Bobcat Equipment South Africa (Pty) Ltd came into being in 2006 when Consolidated Rock Machinery (CRM) took the strategic decision to direct all their resources toward the accelerated development of the Bobcat brand in South Africa.

CRM was founded in 1987 and had been prominent players in the hydraulic hammer and drilling equipment business sectors. In 2001, the company was awarded the distribution rights to Bobcat's range of equipment, which included the Bobcat Skid Steer Loaders, the Bobcat Excavators and the Bobcat Telescopic Loaders. With the head office in Alrode, south of Johannesburg and branches in Cape Town, Durban, Richards Bay and Rustenburg, customers in a broad range of sectors could now enjoy wide exposure to the Bobcat range of equipment available.

CRM entered the compact equipment rental industry in 2003, with the launch of CRM Rental. Customers now also had the opportunity to rent the full range of Bobcat Compact Equipment from an organization with a large national footprint.

Having achieved growth beyond that of the rest of the market from 2001, Bobcat Equipment South Africa will focus entirely on the sale, rental and aftermarket support of the Bobcat range of compact equipment. With a strong and ever expanding national presence, Bobcat customers are sure to enjoy the highest possible levels of technical and commercial support.

Through the years, CRM and now Bobcat S.A., have adopted the strategy that growth is achieved through expanding the customer base of loyal and satisfied customers.
